At JD Sweid Foods, the health and safety of our employees is essential. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made a number of engineering and administrative changes to keep employees safe while delivering essential food products to our customers. All of our safety measures are based on Federal, Provincial Health and work place safety guidance and are posted at the workplace.
These include:
- Screening all employees, contractors and visitors arriving at our facilities. Those failing the screening will not be allowed to enter.
- Reducing overall building occupancy by limiting public access to the facilities and allowing our administrative employees to work from home on a rotating basis
- Limiting occupancy in all common areas such as lunch rooms, boardrooms, locker/washrooms with occupancy limit warnings systems
- Protecting with physical barriers where physical distancing can’t be achieved
- Reconfiguring production lines to increase physical distancing.
- Issuing and requiring personal protective equipment, including masks and shields, for all plant employees
- Delivering enhanced personal hygiene training and specific training for COVID-19.
- Conducting ongoing enhanced sanitation of common high touch areas.
JD Sweid continues to evaluate these safety measures based on the latest information from public health agencies and workplace safety boards.
